Main Avenue Terminal in downtown Passaic, is a cut out lane along Main Avenue northbound, serving New Jersey Transit. It is not a terminal building per se, but a hub stop for busses. It serves nine routes encompassing Passaic, Bergen, Hudson, and Essex Counties, as well as Port Authority Bus Terminal. One recognizable feature of the terminal is its own iconic clock. Supposedly, there are benches for the passengers to sit on while they await their busses, but all too frequently they are gobbled and hogged up by the many homeless, vagrants, and panhandlers, as well as bus ride leeches, (people who try to get free rides without paying, by using such patently fake excuses like, I just got out of the hospital, or I just got out of jail, when obviously, there is no jail in Passaic, and the nearest hospital is nearly a mile away - how did they get there in the first place?) that frequent this location. Best advice: Get there, get your bus, don't give to panhandlers, and get going.

Gentlemen, let me tell you that my experience with these Passaic buses is a complete disaster. They have a schedule, I don't know what for. I'm tired of having to pay for taxis to get to work. Maybe they should start worrying about what they're supposed to be worrying about.
