What riders say

The general consensus among reviewers is largely positive, with passengers finding the station to be a pleasant and helpful transit point despite occasional scheduling issues. Positive viewpoints highlight that the station is clean, beautiful, customer-friendly, and offers reliable transportation when visiting the shore. On the negative side, reviewers noted that buses can fail to follow established schedules, resulting in long waits, while others pointed out a lack of proper timetables, unclear train information screens, and logistical issues mentioned in an errant review about Belmar station regarding missing platforms and difficult train boarding.

Randolph Brown ★★★★ ★

Belmar rail station does not have a platform. You have to enter the car via the stairs. It also isn't a full length stop. Certain cars in the front and rear you will have to walk either forward or back to get off at the stop. If you have a lot of stuff with you or you're bringing your bike with you, as I often do, give yourself a little extra time to get to the stairs. I'm not certain if this station makes any accommodations for people with disabilities, but you may need to board or depart in Asbury Park. Regarding bringing your bike, try to get on the train where you see the ♿ symbol on the car. The conductor will sometimes let you keep your bike in there as it's usually one of the closed cars. Otherwise they usually request you stand in the center of the car with your bike. This is a problem because when you get off in Belmar you'll have to either push or carry your bike down the seating isle to get to the end of the car
