What riders say
The general consensus is that the Toms River Park & Ride is a convenient and functional transit hub for commuting to destinations like New York City, though it is frequently criticized for poor maintenance, limited hours, and outdated amenities. On the positive side, reviewers appreciate the affordable daily parking fee of two dollars, ample available parking spaces, helpful employees, and the overall ease and reliability of catching commuter buses. On the negative side, travelers express frustration that parking and ticket machines accept only cashโspecifically exact dollar bills and quartersโand frequently complain about filthy, foul-smelling restrooms, broken seating, unpaved or poorly lit areas, and the terminal building closing early or being closed altogether, leaving passengers feeling unsafe and unprotected from the weather.

It was good return trip to new york. Parking spot cost $2per day. Only cash. Bus ticket costs $25.10 for adult only cash too
The terminal is just ok. They only accept cash & many of the seats are broken. The bus to NY arrived & the bus driver refused to get off the bus to open the luggage compartment, the handle of which was filthy & greasy. Fortunately, the person behind us closed the compartment door or I'm convinced he would have driven away with it open. Laziness!! I was offered nothing to wipe off my greasy hands.
I need to go to the city and have just parked at Toms River Park & Ride. When I got to the lot, I found that the parking machine can only take dollar bills and quarters. I was going away for 3 days. So, I would need $6.00. But the machine would not even take $5 bills or credit cards. I did not have 6 singles or quarters. I would get a fine. This is very frustrating.
Park and ride for $2 , no over night parking, there's a bathroom in the waiting room, but it does close early. It's always available at 5am when I usually arrive for my morning commute.
This bus station is only open for a couple of hours on the weekdays and does not have any accessible seating that is sheltered from the elements, bathrooms or multiple forms of payment in order to purchase a ticket if you're traveling from one bus to another, such as from Port Authority in NYC. I would say it has a nostalgic charm to it, but it really doesn't. You better hope you can get a ride or have friends in the area. Work needs to be done.
Safe place to park your car and ride in the New Jersey Transit to your destination
It was a good experience. Daily parking is $2.00, and there is plenty of space; I never had a problem finding a spot. ๐ ฟ๏ธ It's easy to commute to NYC๐ฝ and other places. You can prepay for your tickets ๐ซ or buy them on-site (there are machines and one on-site salesperson). The place is in acceptable condition. ๐งนReserved parking for the handicapped โฟ is a available. This site recommended. โ ๏ธ
Dark at night, and roads need paving. Everything works though. My comments pertain to the Toms River Municipal Bus Depot experience, not the Park & Ride. Both share the same location.
THIS PLACE IS A QUICK BATHROOM STOP AND A FEW SNACK MACHINES THIS PLACE REMINDS ME OF A SCARY ๐๐ฎMOVIE QUICK STOP
Needs to be cleaned and mopped more often. I love the convenience of parking
A nice place to catch the bus to New York and the price was reasonable.
Awesome employees 2.00 dollars to park.
Homeless outside, and and not open 24 hours makes it creepy
Like it more when I'm coming home from work than going to
All in all for a bus station it's good.
Took 2people to Bus Depot.Tjry were going to Atlantic City.
I wait for the bus and always shady people around, the place inside is always closed, I don't feel safe especially at night, their should be a coffee shop there and place to sit inside that's clean. Never open ๐ this place needs to be cleaned up broken seats too ๐ก it's a bus terminal should be open all times especially for our safety
This place is filthy. There is no reason that it should be this disgusting at 8 am in the morning. This terminalis hardly ever opened. Bathrooms are disgusting, floors not washed. Hand dryer has caked dust on it. Smells like feces and homeless in waiting area. Definitely not being maintained. Should be zero stars.
The restrooms here are terrible . Youโre better off going out back in the woods . It smells so strong of urine and itโs So0o0o dirty ๐คข
I was expecting to be here today or yesterday I had an open mic to get too
