What riders say
The general consensus is that the Port Imperial Ferry Terminal is a highly convenient, fast, and efficient transit hub for traveling between New Jersey and New York City. Reviewers frequently praise the quick ferry access to Midtown and Downtown Manhattan, the beautiful skyline views, on-site parking decks, free NJ shuttle service, and the clean terminal featuring helpful staff along with good food and drink options. Negative feedback is limited, but includes complaints about long lines and a perceived decline in ferry service frequency, as well as an unreliable mail and shipping center within the terminal that has inaccurate hours and inconsistent staffing.

I've been taking this for almost 20yrs. I have seen a tremendous decline in service from when Mr. Imperatore was alive.. and it has gotten even worse. I now understand profits over customer happiness especially when you have a monopoly - do better because we know you can!! Providing a photo for your viewing pleasures- this was not the norm - now with the ferry every 20min to/fro port imperial/midtown this is the norm. Lines out the door
Gets you to Midtown
We always take the NY Waterway Ferry from NJ to NY whenever we can. It is a beautiful ride, especially at night. Normally take the Port Imperial ferry to Midtown. Plenty of parking right across the street from the terminal. Great photo ops of NYC. Terminal is clean and neat. Good selection of food and drink options.
Would give give the general ferry a 5 - All shops, restaurants including waterway tickets and Information are all very helpful and great. However the mail and ship center is very undependable especially since they are servicing US mail. The hours posted are not accurate. Lunch hours are not accurate. Lunch is must be 2-3 hours. No one is hardly ever there and it's very disappointing because most of us are on foot, bus, ferry here and it's just terrible for someone not to perform in their job and how it affects our lives.
Great views, 8 min Ferry to NYC multiple points, services & free NJ shuttle service. 1st class way to commute. Parking decks are on site.
Convenient ferry to midtown and downtown Brookfield place. Ferry service to midtown on weekends too.
